Juniper Lane Farm offers a private, natural setting for small gatherings and intimate retreats in Ashton, on the western edge of Ottawa. Set among horses, trees and the everyday life of our farm, it’s a place for people to come together a little differently.
Celebrate a birthday or bachelorette, plan a proposal or shower, bring a small team together for a retreat, or gather quietly to remember someone important. We also welcome ideas that don’t fit neatly into a category. If what you’re planning is small, thoughtful and suited to the character of the farm, we’d be happy to hear about it.
Children’s Birthday Parties
There’s something special in sharing in your child’s horse dreams — watching them build trust and confidence, burn off energy outdoors, explore nature, and let their imagination run free! It’s more than time in the saddle — they’re life lessons wrapped in adventure, with memories you’ll both cherish.
We offer small, private children’s birthday parties for ages 6 and up. Over two hours, children will spend time connecting with the horses, enjoy a pony ride, explore the farm and have time for free play before heading home happy, full of memories and, ideally, pleasantly tired.
Parties will be limited to eight children, plus accompanying adults, keeping the experience relaxed and giving everyone plenty of opportunity to interact with the horses.
And birthdays aren’t just for kids!
Grown-ups are welcome to celebrate here too — share a toast, hang out by the barn and let our resident horses judge your birthday outfit!
Celebrations & Milestones
If you’re looking for a non-traditional event space, gather up to 20 of your favourite people for a birthday, bachelorette, shower, anniversary, or simply an occasion worth marking, and make the farm part of the experience.
Keep it simple with a toast by the barn, spend some time with the horses, wander the property, bring something to eat or settle in and enjoy being together somewhere a little different. We can help shape your time at the farm around the occasion, the group and what feels like a good fit for the day.
Planning a Proposal?
If you’re looking for a private place to ask a very important question, Juniper Lane Farm offers an alternative to the usual proposal spots. Plan something by the barn, among the trees, or let the horses be part of the moment.
We can help you think through the setting and timing, keep your plans under wraps, build a ruse around a horse experience and coordinate with a photographer if you’d like the moment captured. Afterwards, stay awhile for a celebratory toast, snacks and some time together on the farm ❤️

A different setting for a small retreat
Sometimes getting away from the usual setting is part of what helps people slow down, connect and see things differently. Juniper Lane Farm offers a quiet, private setting for intimate retreats and small-group gatherings surrounded by horses, trees and nature.
Bring your team together outside the boardroom, host a wellness or creative retreat, or bring your own facilitator and use the farm as the setting for the day. Time here can be shaped around your group and purpose, with opportunities to explore the property, gather in and around the barn, spend time outdoors or incorporate a horse experience into your visit.
