Welcome to Juniper Lane Farm

Juniper Lane Farm is a small, wooded horse farm in Ashton, on the western edge of Ottawa, where our horses live alongside the people, paths and spaces that make up the farm.

Our Approach:

We believe the best experiences come from respecting the place and the animals who live here. We’ve designed the farm with both horses and people in mind, while recognizing that the choices we make affect the natural environment around us. For us, sharing the farm means finding a balance between welcoming people in, caring for the land and protecting the quiet, everyday life that makes this place special.

A tour of our Property:

Tucked quietly behind a residential front, the property opens into a mostly wooded space.

Upon arriving, you take a gently curving laneway that leads you beneath a tree canopy of tall jack pines and maples.

You’ll soon reach the farm yard, centred by a modern grey barn with cedar detailing. This has been a labour of love for us, as we built the entire barn, inside and out, ourselves. Sometimes it’s even decorated!

From there, you can watch the horses hanging out during the day in the paddock, or follow a short path to see what the chickens are doing.

Maybe the chickens will lure you down one of the paths. You can even take a horse down one of the horses’ paths as part of a horse experience.

Book a Horse Experience

You can watch the goings on in the paddock or the arena with our covered seating platform. The outdoor arena is fenced with logs and is used for one-on-one sessions with the horses and warm, rustic photos. At the back of the arena, sitting at the top of a sloping laneway, a large arch aligns perfectly with the late afternoon sun.

Head down that laneway under the natural arch of the trees toward the back of the property. In the evening you’ll find the horses grazing in the neighbouring pasture.

Our Location:

To maintain a quiet, serene environment for our resident horses and the couples celebrating their wedding days, we are open by appointment only.

  • The Drive: We are located less than 5 minutes from Highway 7, about halfway between Stittsville and Carleton Place, making it a straightforward trip for arriving guests.

  • Ready to Visit? If you would like to see the pastures, explore the ceremony sites, and meet the horses in person, we would love to host you for a private tour.
